Clamshell News for February 2021

It’s been awhile since we last sent out a newsletter.

Between COVID, the global supply chain issues created by the pandemic, school changes, working remotely, and more, we’ve let this newsletter slide down the priority list. We’re hopeful as we look towards the rest of this year that we may begin the return to normal soon-ish.

My Press Needs and our team are still here, designing and building the best quality die-cutters with no make-ready time, and installing them.

“3 Times Better than the Reciprocating Press”

Last summer, we installed Data Graphic’s new 20″x26″ Crest in Mt. Dora, Florida. They already own 32″x47″ and 23″x32″ presses, so they’re long-time satisfied customers! They shared this video where the press operator finds that their new Crest “outruns the reciprocating press next door by a margin of 3 to 1.

Looking Ahead

ROBOTICS

We can’t say much about this yet, since this idea is still in development. More details to come as we explore ways to use robotics with the Crest.

AUTOMATION

In our ongoing efforts to increase efficiency for our customers, we’re looking for ways to incorporate automation with the Crest. Some of the ideas we’re investigating include robotics, feeder systems, and table systems. Do you see a need for automation? We’d love to hear from you about how you are integrating automation into your business. Hit reply and tell us your thoughts.

TWO NEW PATENTS

In the last year, we’ve been awarded two new patents, one for our softcut system™ and one for our new Widemouth™ press. Read more about these innovations on our blog.
