Automatic Die Cutting, Foil Stamping & Embossing Press

For years customers asked for an affordable, large clamshell press with the tonnage needed for tough die cutting or embossing jobs. Some companies responded with light-weight presses designed to operate reliably for only a few years, while others simply said they could not build this type of press.

After years of analysis and engineering, The AutoClam, an extremely compact 80 tons press, requiring minimal floor space while increasing customers' sheet size capabilities was introduced to a limited number of beta site customers for testing, the company then listened to their customers real-world experiences. We tweaked the press, fine tuned the registration system, and we are now pleased to offer an AutoClam that consistently registers at 1,900 an hour at sheet sizes up to 21.5” x 31”.

With the AutoClam, customers can produce three-fold pocket folders or run two small jobs at the same time and double their production. Our current AutoClam customers foil stamp, die cut, kiss cut and emboss a variety of products including diplomas, event tickets, promotional materials, three-pocket folders, and more.

AutoClam customers tell us they bought the press for the following reasons:
  • Big Sheet Size in a Small Package: Customer surveys revealed that AutoClam owners purchased this press to enter the half-sheet (20”x28”) market and to produce three-pocket folders. Many of our customers wanted to increase their sheet size, but lacked the space required for other half-sheet presses. The AutoClam is a compact press for small spaces.

  • Minimal Learning Curve: The AutoClam's familiar operating style reduces the learning curve for new operators. The user-friendly touch screen combined with straight forward controls offer practical technology to reduce set-up times without complicating operations.

  • Foil Puller: One foil stamper was impressed by how much foil he saved with the programmable step-and-repeat foil system.

  • Tonnage: The platen and the main frame are designed to deliver 80 tons, while the powertrain provides 80 working tons at all operating speeds.

  • Speed: Set-up times are comparable to presses half the size, and our new technology continues to increase running speeds on a range of stocks.

“We have had the AutoClam three months, and we have one customer that insists in his 25 years in the business that we are the best die cutters he’s ever worked with,” said Ron Lewis, Lewis Offset. “We are so happy that we chose the AutoClam, and I’m sure that any company that does its research will arrive at the same conclusion—The AutoClam is a great press backed by a company with integrity.”

STANDARD FEATURES:
  • Single Lateral toggle register for perfect positioning of sheet.

  • Touch Screen Operator Interface - Operators can easily track their job progress and identify any potential problems with the AutoClam’s user-friendly warning system. Operators can also use this interface to change the speed of the press (speed can be preset).

  • Air Blast System. The AutoClam’s air blast system helps separate the sheets to avoid double feeding. AutoClam customers also frequently use this feature for foil-stamping applications to help separate the stamped foil substrate from the stamped sheet.

  • Non-stop in-feed and delivery elevators (Motorized).

  • Safety guards to meet ANSI and OSHA standards.

  • Heavy Duty vacuum pump & control system
